🎶 My Grandfather's Clock

🎼 Sáng tác: Ken Hirai | 🎶 Điệu Blues | 👁️ 158

My [A#]Grandfather's [Db]clock was too [Bb]large for the [Em]shelf,
So it [A#]stood ninety [Db]years on the [A#]floor.
It was [A#]taller by [Db]half than the [Bb]old man [Em]himself,
Though it [A#]weighed not a [Db]pennyweight [A#]more.

It was [A#]bought on the [Bb]morn of the [Eb]day he was [Db]born,
And twas [A#]always his [Bb]treasure and [Eb]pride[Db],
But it [A#]stopped [Db]short, [Bb]never to go [Em]again, when the [A#]old [Db]man [A#]died.

Ninety [A#]years without slumbering, tick, tock, tick, tock,
It's [A#]life seconds numbering, tick tock, tick, tock,
But it [A#]stopped [Db]short, [Bb]never to go [Em]again, when the [A#]old [Db]man [A#]died.

In [A#]watching its [Db]pendulum [Bb]swing to and [Em]fro,
Many [A#]hours had he [Db]spent as a [A#]boy.
And in [A#]childhood and [Db]manhood the [Bb]clock seemed to [Em]know,
And it [A#]shared both his [Db]sorrow and [A#]joy.

For it [A#]struck twenty-[Bb]four when he [Eb]entered the [Db]door,
With a [A#]blooming and [Bb]beautiful [Eb]bride[Db],
But it [A#]stopped [Db]short, [Bb]never to go [Em]again, when the [A#]old [Db]man [A#]died.
